MANCHESTER - A Manchester mother was arrested after allegedly stabbing her 18-year-old son in the back with a kitchen knife on Sunday.
According to Manchester Police, Bernadette Alvarez and her son were fighting in their Belmont Street apartment about getting rid of his pet birds.
Alvarez then grabbed a kitchen knife, police said, and stabbed her son in the back, causing a serious but non-life threatening injury.
Alvarez was arrested and charged with first-degree assault and falsifying the evidence because the knife had been wiped clean.
Her son was treated at Elliot Hospital.
Alvarez is scheduled to appear in court on Monday.
