Manchester Monarchs headed to their first-ever Calder Cup Finals
MANCHESTER - There have been many highlights for fans of the Manchester Monarchs during the 15 years that the team has called the Queen City home.
The organization has hosted an American Hockey League All-Star game, there have been visits of the Stanley Cup, the now legendary Mullett night and important fund raisers like Pink in the Rink.
Now for the first time in their history, the Monarchs will be playing in the finals for the Calder Cup. They advanced to the Calder Cup Finals after sweeping the Hartford Wolf Pack with a 3-1 win last night at the XL Center.
Now they are just four victories away from hoisting the championship trophy but they are going to have to wait a little while for that series to begin. The Calder Cup Finals is set to begin on June 6 at the Verizon Wireless Arena. As for their opponent, they will face the winner of the Western Conference finals that has Utica playing Grand Rapids.
