Manchester man tries to rob 95-year-old WWII Veteran

MANCHESTER - Queen City police are looking for a man they say tried to rob a 95 year-old World War II veteran.

Arthur Kamberis was leaving Walgreens on Valley St. Saturday morning when a man attempted to rob him. Kamberis began to fight the assailant off with his cane. A good Samaritan saw what was happening and stepped in to help Kamberis, prompting the robber to flee the scene.

The robber is described as a white male in his early 30s, between 5'9" and 5'11" and weighing 160-170 lbs, with light brown hair and brown eyes. The suspect is said to be wearing a gray jacket, grey hat and light colored shoes.

Anyone with information is asked to call Manchester Police at 668-8711 and reference case number #15-7297. You can also call the Manchester Crimeline anonymously at 624-4040.
