Manchester man charged with dealing weed after police respond to reported fight

MANCHESTER - A report of a possible fight involving suspects with baseball bats led police to an address on Third Street, where they say they found evidence of drug dealing.

Police found two 16-year-olds outside the building armed with baseball bats and apparently yelling up at the residents of the fourth floor at 14 Third St.

The youths were identified and released to their parents a short time later with no charges.

Inside the fourth floor apartment, police found Cory Raikes, 21, of Manchester, his 19-year-old girlfriend and their toddler.

Police say Raikes was armed with a handgun and that a second handgun was found in the apartment along with a bullet proof vest and roughly 7 ounces of marijuana.

Police say the marijuana was packaged in manner "consistent with distribution." Raikes was arrested and charged with felonious use of a firearm, endangering the welfare of a child, and possession of marijuana with intent to sell. He was arraigned on Wednesday.
