Manchester man arrested for dragging Hampton officer from car while trying to flee

HAMPTON - Police say an officer was dragged 15 to 20 feet by a car who drove off while the officer was trying to get the driver's license and registration.

Zachary Graves of Manchester refused to pull over for an officer who was directing traffic on Church Street and Brown Avenue at 10:30 p.m. on Wednesday, according to police.

Graves was found by Hampton units on Route 101 and arrested on charges of endangering an officer, reckless conduct, resisting arrest, conduct after an accident, and failure to stop when signaled by an officer.

The officer was taken to Portsmouth Regional Hospital where he was treated for non-life threatening injuries.
