Manchester in mourning: Calling hours and funeral held for North End shooting victim Denise Robert

Calling hours for Denise Robert were held on Thursday night at Lambert funeral home.

Robert has a large family and the story of her untimely death has reached so many in the community.

A vigil was organized by a woman who didn’t even know Robert, just a North End neighbor who felt compelled to act.

“The death of Denise Robert is an incredible tragedy and loss to her family, our neighborhood and this community," said Kristen Cottle who organized the event. "This has been quite overwhelming. My objective from the very beginning was to bring people together, to offer hope and to honor Denise. Our goal is mutual and that it is to honor an incredible woman who served her community with such grace and to offer hope to those in fear."

New in the case, there are signs in Manchester posted downtown claiming an increased reward. Police are unsure who is putting them up and there is a discrepancy about the number.

Police confirmed $17,500 is the reward.

Since the reward has been posted, at least 12 leads have been generated from tips.

Police continue to focus on what’s been described as a dark-colored pickup truck from the mid-2000s, possibly rust-colored.

We spoke Father John at Saint Marie’s church where Robert will have her funeral service.

He said the mass will be more about Robert’s life than her untimely death.
