Manchester girls stop attempted abduction

MANCHESTER - A local mother says she could not be prouder of her daughter, who along with a friend, may have stopped a kidnapping earlier this week.

Kristin Winslow, 11, said she was playing with a friend in the backyard pool when a man began to drag her friend's 6-year-old sister away. The older girls hopped a fence and followed him down the street and grabbed the little girl back. The girls screamed for help and Mom came running. She then chased the man to a nearby store where police arrested him.

"I would have been intimidated by him, so I’m very very proud of my daughter. She did the right thing, because you don’t know where it could have led," said mother Christel Dawson.

The suspect, Timothy Wallingford, remains in jail on $100,000 bond.
