Manchester firefighters battle fire started by coffee roaster; $20,000 in damages


MANCHESTER - A fire started in a coffee roasting machine resulting in the evacuation of over 200 workers from Java Tree Coffee Roasters on 540 Commercial Street on Thursday.

The machine malfunctioned, and black smoke poured out and began to fill the chimney above the roaster.

There were no injuries to civilians or firefighters.

The damages are estimated at $20,000.
