Manchester fashion show raises thousands for city charity, features NH1 News anchors

MANCHESTER — A local charity dedicated to fighting homelessness held a fashion show fundraiser Friday, featuring two NH1 News anchors.

Families in Transition hosted its I AM ONE Fashion Extravaganza Friday afternoon at St. George Greek Orthodox Cathedral in Manchester. The fashion show highlighted donated clothing from local thrift stores and retailers, worn by volunteer models and available for sale.

"I think the show was very energetic," said FIT President Maureen Beauregard after the show. "Every year, we do something a little different, so we keep doing that to keep it fresh. The models are outstanding. It was a great mix of people."

Two of the models included NH1's Keke Vencill and Charlie Sherman, who sported multiple outfits during the show. Keke was also joined by NH1's resident news dog, Ernie the pug.

In addition to the clothes for sale, organizers auctioned off donated items and experiences, including tickets to a taping of Late Night with Seth Meyers. The VIP tickets included a meet and greet with the Bedford native after the show.

Beauregard said every year, the show raises between $90,000 and $100,000 for FIT. After this show, she said they were on pace to exceed their goal.

"It's really humbling," she said. "It just really fills my heart because honestly, these people are so wonderful, and it's just an amazing day. What a way to end the week."
