Manchester 'dreadlock' bank robber apprehended

MANCHESTER – Manchester police arrested a man accused of three Queen City bank robberies occurring between April and September.

All of the banks were in the south end of Manchester and in two of the three robberies witnesses described a man wearing a deadlock costume hat and wig. Manchester police determined the robberies were connected and launched an investigation that led them to Richardo Mejia.

Mejia, 24 of Manchester, was arrested on warrants of robbing Citizens Bank, TD Bank and a Northway Bank.

When police located Meija Monday evening, he was in a vehicle operated by Travis Watson.

Mejia was taken into custody.

Watson was arrested for driving with a suspended license but is not believed to have taken part in the robberies.
