Manchester Central student wins car in Make the Grade contest

MANCHESTER - A junior from Manchester Central High School went to the Fisher Cats game Friday night and drove away with a new car.

Anthony Kokoszka was the winner of the AutoFair "Make the Grade" contest and a 2015 Hyundai Veloster.

The giveaway took place during the pre-game show of the Fisher Cats at Northeast Delta Dental Stadium.

"It's unbelievable," Kokoszka said. "I never thought I ever would even get here. It's crazy, I walked up and kissed the car and it just happened."

"Make the Grade" is a partnership between the city of Manchester, AutoFair and the Fisher Cats to recognize academic achievement and to connect corporate partners to the community. To be eligible, juniors or seniors must have made the honor roll, high honors and principal's list for the first, second or third quarter of that academic year.

"The commitment from Andy Crews, president of AutoFair and Rick Brenner, president of the New Hampshire Fisher Cats for keeping this program in our city schools for four years is outstanding," stated Mayor Ted Gatsas.
