Manchester ambulance provider shares drug overdose numbers
MANCHESTER - According to the city's ambulance service AMR, emergency responders dealt with 638 reported overdoses so far for 2015, resulting in 81 deaths.
If confirmed by the state's Chief Medical Examiner, that will far exceed the 52 deaths reported in 2014 in Manchester.
American Medical Response provides ambulance service to Manchester, Nashua and Candia, or roughly 15 percent of the state. Their totals for the year for all three communities are 848 reported overdoses with 96 deaths, suggesting Candia and Nashua have far less of a drug problem.
A month-by-month breakdown shows a spike in overdoses in the month of September, with just over 100 overdoses in Manchester alone, including 10 that were fatal.
