Man with dementia missing overnight found safe in Mason

MASON — An 88-year-old man with dementia was found Sunday morning suffering from hypothermia after wandering away from his son’s home overnight, authorities said.

The Union-Leader reported Edmond Levesque of Lunenburg was staying at his son’s home on Hurricane Hill Road when he wandered off sometime after 9:30 p.m. Saturday, according to Fish and Game.

His son on Sunday morning found Levesque missing and called 911. Fish and Game conservation officers were called at 7 a.m. and began coordinating a search. At about 9 a.m., a Hurricane Hill Road resident living about a half-mile away from the Levesque residence spotted the elder Levesque lying on the ground outside.
