CONCORD - Police responding to a call of a home full of smoke Sunday night found something more.
Concord Police Department Lt. Tim O'Malley said officers arrived at a Ridge Road home and found James McFeteridge, 38 of Concord, had crashed through the side of a home. There were four people in the home at the time of the crash.
Police said McFeteridge was looking at a cellphone immediately prior to the crash. He was driving alone, and there were no injuries.
O'Malley said there was significant damage to McFeteridge's car and the extent of the damage to the home was still being determined Monday.
This is not McFeteridge's first run in with law enforcement regarding using a phone while behind the wheel. He been issued a warning in July for using a phone while driving.
McFeteridge was issued a summons for using a device and disobeying traffic control devices for texting as he passed through a stop sign on Franklin Street.
