Man struck with fire extinguisher during break-in by 2 men in Pelham

PELHAM — Reports say two men broke into an apartment on 18 Nashua road, and struck one male resident with a fire extinguisher on 2:48 a.m. Saturday.

The use of the fire extinguisher set off an alarm, to which police and fire units responded. While on the way there, police received a second call stating that an apartment had been broken into, and a resident was assaulted.

A male and a female were in the apartment. The man had a lacerations on his head after being stricken with the fire extinguisher. He was taken to a local hospital. The female was unharmed.

Hudson police brought search dogs to look for the suspects, who were described as two bald, white men. That phase of the search ended in a parking lot, indicating that the suspects left in a waiting vehicle.

Police do not believe this is a random incident, or that the public is in danger.

They have suspects, and are continuing to investigate the incident.
