Man seriously injures lower body after crane collaspes in Laconia
LACONIA —A man was severely injured Thursday morning after a crane collapsed on his lower body.
A Laconia police officer was driving by as she saw a crane collapsing on Province Road.
The fire department was called at about 9:20 a.m. and they found a male victim with serious injuries to his lower body after the boom collapsed while three workers were setting up the crane.
The victim was transported to the Lakes Region General Hospital and airlifted to Dartmouth Hitchcock, and the two other workers were able to escape injury.
Both state police and OSHA are investigating the incident.
