Man sentenced to 1 year in prison for dragging Hampton police officer with car

BRENTWOOD - A Manchester man is facing a year in jail following an incident where he hit and dragged a Hampton police officer with his car after refusing to pull over.

Zachary Graves, 23, has been sentenced to 12 months in jail, the Union Leader reported.

He admitted to dragging the officer alongside his car for about 20 feet before speeding away last June.

Graves pleaded guilty to second-degree assault, reckless conduct, disobeying an officer and resisting arrest.

The officer was taken to Portsmouth Regional Hospital where he was treated for non-life threatening injuries.
