Man rescued from Tuckerman Ravine Trail after severe leg pain during hike
New Hampshire Fish & Game helped a man who was overcome with severe leg pain while hiking down Tuckerman Ravine Trail about half a mile from the summit.
Krishna Kallamadi, 28, of Windsor, Connecticut was incapacitated while he was hiking with a group of eight, one of whom made the call prompting his rescue after the injury.
Fish & Game learned of the situation at about 4 p.m., and then reached out to volunteers of the Appalachian mountain Club (AMC). A volunteer hiked up the Tuckerman Ravine Trail from the Hermit Lake shelter, and provided aid.
Conservation officers used an ATV to transport Kallamadi out of the woods, and to the AMC Pinkham Notch Visitor Center at 8:30 PM.
Rescuers noted that Kallamadi was well prepared for the hike despite needing to borrow extra layers. Fish & Game reminds the public that seasons change rapidly in the White Mountains.
