Man pleads guilty to taking minor from NH to Mass. for illegal sexual activity


CONCORD - A Massachusetts man has pleaded guilty in federal court to transporting a minor across state lines for illegal sexual activity.

The case developed out of an investigation into the sexual abuse of several children in Franklin, N.H.

According to N.H.'s Acting U.S. Attorney Donald Feith, Lawrence Marks, 35, of Tewksbury, Mass., confessed to taking a child from N.H. to Massachusetts on several occasions where he engaged in sexual activity with her.

Marks is scheduled to be sentenced on March 30, 2016. He faces a mandatory minimum sentence of 10 years.

The case was investigated by the New Hampshire State Police and the Franklin Police Department in conjunction with the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Billerica, Mass. Police Department.
