Man pleads guilty in 2012 burglary, assault in Bedford, NH
MANCHESTER - A man accused of being an accomplice in an attack on a Bedford couple has pleaded guilty.
Jury selection was scheduled to start Monday at Hillsborough County Superior Court for Nathan Lamontagne who was charged with 2 counts of conspiracy to commit burglary, two counts of falsifying evidence, criminal liability to burglary, and criminal liability to first-degree assault.
Lamontagne and Charles Normil are accused of going to the home of Eduardo and Sonia Quesada at 7 Proclamation Court on Nov. 24, 2012, to commit a burglary.
Police say that while at the home, Normil beat the couple and raped Sonia Quesada.
Normil has been indicted on 13 offenses including first- and second-degree assault, four counts of rape and attempted murder. He also is facing charges in Massachusetts for a similar incident. The charges in New Hampshire won't be addressed until after his trial in Massachusetts, which is scheduled to begin this month, according to media reports.
Sonia Quesada was found dead Jan. 7 from prescription overdose. The manner of her death was ruled undetermined. Eduardo Quesada was unconscious at the time but survived after being rushed to the hospital.
Lamontagne faces five to 15 years in prison. He is scheduled to be sentenced Oct. 28 at 9 a.m.
The County Attorney's declined to comment on whether Lamontagne would testify against Normil.
