Man killed after walking in front of Amtrak train in Claremont

CLAREMONT — A man has died after he was struck by an Amtrak train Friday.

Police said the unidentified man may have intentionally walked in front of the southbound train. The incident occurred at about 12:30 p.m. Friday between the Claremont junction and Grissom Lane.

Emergency services who responded to the scene confirmed the man was deceased. Claremont Police and Amtrak Police are currently investigating the incident.

The identity of the man is being withheld until the family has been notified.
