Man identified who drowned in Echo Lake on Monday


CONWAY - An autopsy confirmed the cause of death as drowning for a swimmer who died at Echo Lake on Sept. 7.

The victim was identified as Andrew Coady, 32, of Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island in Canada.

State Police had first responded to a report of a swimmer who had gone underwater and had not resurfaced.

Lifeguards found the man and began CPR until emergency crews were able to take him to the hospital.

He was pronounced dead at Memorial Hospital.
