Man high on LSD, cough syrup busts into neighbor's 'burning' home to 'save' dog

A man ran into his neighbor's "burning" home to save their dog - or so he thought.

Turns out, he was just high on a concoction of LSD and cough syrup, police said.

According to WNYT-TV, Michael Orchard of Halfmoon, New York, took the drugs last week and hallucinated the fire next door. Orchard drove his car through his yard and over his neighbor’s fence, and smashed the back door to get the dog away from the "flames."

Orchard was charged with second-degree burglary and third-degree criminal mischief and booked in county jail on $15,000 bail.

The dog was okay.
