Man from Alabama, 64, drowned in NH lake after capsizing kayak

OSSIPEE (AP) — Authorities say a 64-year-old man has drowned after a passerby found his capsized kayak on Duncan Lake in Ossipee.

Officials say the man discovered the Birmingham, Ala., man about 70 yards off shore around 10:15 a.m. Sunday. The passerby and responding officers administered CPR but were unable to revive him.

The victim's identity is being withheld pending family notification.

Authorities are urging lake-goers to wear a life jacket when on the water.
