Man dies in I-95 toll crash in Hampton

HAMPTON - An 88-year-old Massachusetts man has died after his silver Buick LeSabre struck a concrete barrier at the Hampton tolls on Monday afternoon.

State Police say Forrest Bishop, of Merrimack, Mass., may have suffered from a medical condition prior to the crash.

Just after 1 p.m., authorities received multiple 911 calls about Bishop's vehicle swerving in and out of lanes. When troopers located the car and attempted to pull Bishop over he didn't stop, police said.

Troopers followed Bishop to the tolls until the crash, which occurred on the northbound side.

The incident forced the closure of three lanes for about two hours at the Interstate 95 tolls.

Lane one, where the crash occurred, was already closed for the installation of cameras and maintenance.

Nobody was in the toll booth behind the barrier at the time of the crash.

The crash remained under investigation Monday evening while all lanes reopened.
