MANCHESTER — A man is dead after his car burst into flames following a high-speed car chase.
Officials with the N.H. State Police said the man was fleeing from officers and crashed off the Interstate 93/Interstate 293 split. The car was engulfed in flames and started a brush fire.
N.H. State Police Captain Gregory Ferry said the officer rushed to the pick-up truck after the crash and pulled the man out of the car.
The chase began on I-93 near Exit 2 in Salem after an intial crash there, according to Ferry. Witnesses told police the driver had out-of state plates and was weaving in and out of traffic.
Traffic was significantly delayed Tuesday morning before the morning commute. Officials were still on scene later Tuesday morning.
