Man crashes truck after driving away from police stop, flees on foot in Rochester


ROCHESTER — A man sped away from a police officer who had just pulled him over, striking two vehicles in the parking lot of Dave's Tri-City Towing at 50 Wakefield Street on Friday night.

An officer pulled over a Chevrolet Silverado for a vehicle violation at 11:11 p.m. While the officer was investigating, the Silverado sped south on Wakefield Street, but lost control on the corner to Union Street.

The Chevrolet left the roadway, and hit two vehicles in the parking lot. Alcohol and speed are assumed to be factors in the crash. The driver of the Chevrolet fled from the scene on foot, but could not be found.

Rochester police ask anyone with information about the incident to contact them at 603-330-7128. Anonymous information can be provided by calling the Rochester Crime Line at 603-335-6500.
