MERRIMACK – William Shine, the man convicted of child sex trafficking and several other charges, was sentenced Monday.
Shine and his wife were accused of forcing a teenage girl into prostitution.
In court Monday, Shine spoke about his relationship with his family.
“She was used because of her disability. That’s why my wife and I tried so hard to keep them away from other people because we don’t want them hurt,” said Shine.
A statement was read on behalf of the victim asking for Shine to get the maximum sentence,
Shine was sentenced to the minimum 15 years in State Prison.
He has already served over one year of his sentence.
His wife will face trial of a later date.
