Man charged with slashing another man's face in restaurant

The Associated Press

FALMOUTH, Mass. (AP) — A man is facing charges after police say he slashed another man's face with a knife at a Cape Cod restaurant.

Brendan Medeiros, of Falmouth, is facing multiple charges, including assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and mayhem.

Police say the 35-year-old Medeiros lacerated a 37-year-old Falmouth man on the chin and left cheek. It happened around 11:30 p.m. Saturday at Falmouth Raw Bar.

Police say the victim's friends took the knife away from Medeiros and held him on the ground until officers arrived. The victim was treated at a nearby hospital and released.

Medeiros is being held on $5,000 bail. It's unclear if he has a lawyer who could comment.
