Man charged with robbery and assault in Manchester


MANCHESTER - One man is in custody after a robbery led to a physical confrontation near Pearl Street in Manchester on Tuesday.

Police reported that a 47-year-old man whose identity has not been released was leaving a convenience store after purchasing lottery tickets when he was allegedly approached by Ayuen Leek, 18, of Manchester.

According to police, Leek allegedly asked the 47-year-old if he wanted to purchase marijuana. When the man reached into his wallet, Leek allegedly grabbed the wallet out of the man's hand. Police then reported the man chased after Leek and a physical altercation allegedly occured, resulting in a large laceration on the man's head.

When police arrived on scene, Leek was arrested and charged with robbery and second degree assault. Leek is expected to appear in court on Wednesday.
