Man charged with criminal threatening after waving a gun in Manchester, 2 passengers were kids.
MANCHESTER - Police arrested 22-year-old Shane Lafreniere of Jaffrey for felony criminal threatening after a road rage incident in Manchester on Sunday.
22-year-old Tyler Merrill of Pembroke stopped a police officer after he said, the driver of another car, later identified as Lafreniere, displayed a handgun.
Merrill said Lefreniere cut him off on the Amoskeag Bridge then slammed on his brakes, almost causing an accident. The two both went the same direction on Canal Street when Lefreniere allegedly drove up beside Merrill and displayed the handgun.
According to the release, Merrill said he had four others in his vehicle, including his two young children, ages 1 and 4.
Police caught up with Lafreniere but could not find the handgun. He was charged with criminal threatening and released on $1,000 bail. He is scheduled to appear in court May 4.
