Man charged with cashing fraudulent checks in NH, Massachusetts
NASHUA — A Massachusetts man was arrested on a warrant Monday after fraudulently cashing three checks in New Hampshire and Massachusetts in December 2016, police said.
Nashua police said Kane Bloomfield, 32, of Worcester, Massachusetts, was apprehended in Worcester, Massachusetts, on May 10 and extradited to New Hampshire on June 20.
On Dec. 16, the Billerica Police Department in Massachusetts received a complaint that from a local business that three unauthorized checks had been cashed at two banks in Massachusetts and a third bank in Nashua. Police said the value of the fraudulent check cashed in Nashua was $2,491.11.
Detectives from the Billerica Police Department identified Bloomfield as the suspect and alerted the Nashua Police Department.
Nashua police completed an arrest warrant charging Bloomfield with one count of theft by deception, a class A felony.
Bloomfield refused bail and is scheduled to be arraigned in the Nashua district court Tuesday.
