Man busted for NH pot operation, police find 25 marijuana plants inside apartment

NEWPORT — A Newport man was arrested after police said they found 25 marijuana plants in his apartment.

Police were dispatched to Jonathan Weaver's apartment after a report that the 28-year-old was suicidal, according to the Union Leader.

A search warrant was obtained based on officer observations at the scene and resulted in the seizure of the plants, growing implements and smoking paraphernalia.

Weaver was charged with manufacture of a controlled drug - a class B felony - and was arraigned on Wednesday, where his $10,000 bail was lowered to $2,500 cash.

There will be a probable cause hearing will take place on Oct. 3 at the 5th Circuit Court of Claremont.
