Man blows off stop signs, drives into Main Street backyard in Manchester

MANCHESTER - A chase ensued at approximately 1:30 a.m. on Saturday morning after a driver failed to pull over after driving through two stop signs near the I-293 exit at Harvell Street in Manchester.

The driver was identified as Evan Kowalski of Loudon and he was placed in custody for Aggrevated Operating under the Influence and Disobeying a Police Officer.

Police say that Kowalski drove the vehicle into a sidewalk and snowbank, causing the vehicle to be airlifted. Kowalski then drove into backyard of 559 S. Main St. through two large bushes before eventually coming to a halt.

Kowalski was released on $1,000 personal recognizance bail and is set to appear in court on Feb. 5.
