Man believed to be 'Jack the Snipper' arrested for allegedly exposing self to 11-year-old girl

SALEM - A man was arrested Tuesday on charges he exposed himself to an 11-year-old girl in the children's section of the Barnes & Noble in Salem.

Employees of the Salem Barnes & Noble were able to identify him based on a similar incident at the Nashua location in 2013.

Jeffrey Gelinas is also believed to be the man known as "Jack the Snipper." He was the No. 1 suspect in the case of a man went into women's apartments near the University of New Hampshire and cut their underwear off while they were sleeping.

He was never convicted of those charges, but he plead guilty to burglary charges and was sentenced to eight years in prison. He was paroled in 2012.

Gelinas is being held on $50,000 bail.
