Man arrested after showing knife and assaulting Manchester bar owner


MANCHESTER - Wednesday night two officers were called to Raxx Lounge and Nightlife on Elm St. in Manchester for disorderly patron who assaulted the bar owner. Police were able to locate and arrest, 31 year old Brian Royer.

The bar owner, Michael Desrochers, said after Royer broke a beer bottle on a pool table, he was asked to leave. That is when Royer became belligerant, flashing his hunting knife at Desrochers. When Royer put the knife back in the sheath, Desrochers confronted him. That is when Royer struck Desrochers in the face and fled on foot. He was confronted by police a short while later and began bashing his head against the concrete as police were trying to take him into custody.

He received medical attention for his wounds and brought to the Manchester Police Department where he was charged with Disorderly Conduct, Resisting Arrest, Possession of a Weapon by a Felon, Reckless Conduct and Violation of Bail.

Royer will go before a judge this morning.
