MERRIMACK — A Manchester man has been charged with theft after being accused of stealing a bottle of Dr. McGillicuddy's from a New Hampshire state liquor store.
State Police arrested Steven R. Hallock, 33, of 10 Hazelton Court, on Aug. 20 and turned him over to Merrimack police on a warrant for theft by unauthorized taking.
Police said on Aug. 2 officers responded to the liquor store on Dobson Way. Employees told police a man had been seen taking an item and putting it into his back pocket. He then purchased another item and left the store without paying for the bottle of Dr. McGillicuddy's that he had put in his back pocket.
The employee gave a description of the man to officers and also provided the registration number of the vehicle he was seen leaving in.
After an investigation, police were able to identify the suspect as Hallock and obtained a warrant.
Hallock was released on $1,500 personal recognizance bail and is scheduled to appear before the Merrimack district court Sept. 21.
