Man accused of firing shotgun through floor; barely missing toddler

MANCHESTER - A 2-year-old boy was unharmed after a man allegedly fired a shotgun at the floor, sending bullet fragments passing through the ceiling and onto his bed and bedroom floor.

The incident happened around 2 a.m. Saturday morning at an apartment complex on Putnam street.

Police responded to a loud fight and party call, and later arrested Gilberto Santiago on unrelated charges, but said he was the suspect involved in the shooting incident this morning.

The boy's father, who asked not to be identified, spoke with NH1 News on Saturday. He said his son was unharmed and had luckily decided to sleep in his sister's bed several feet away.

He said he fears what could've happened if his son had been sleeping in his usual bed.

Now the family is considering a move, saying they've had enough.

There was no word Saturday night whether or not Santiago had posted bail.
