Maine officials are looking for a 10-foot snake that's still on the loose

WESTBROOK, Maine — A 10-foot snake is on the loose in Maine.

Police say the snake was seen eating what appeared to be a beaver.

Shortly after, a second officer showed up to this area of Riverbank Park and the snake went into the Presumpscot River, swam over to the other side and disappeared.

Today, first responders stood along the riverbank trying to spot the snake.

They were joined by a crowd of people trying to catch a glimpse as well - some curious, others anxious.

Investigators believe the snake might lay low for a few days because of the size of the meal it was seen eating.
