NH1 News sister station Frank FM - based in Portland, Maine - took a special interest in the story of a dog getting abandoned at a Humane Society earlier in the week.

The dog was loose for three days before it was hit and killed by a car.

The radio station offered $1,000 if someone was able to identify the owner.

Well, the Stan, Heidi and Teddy show got the owner on the phone and asked her to explain herself.

In the interview, the woman says:

"What led it was that I got the dog from my ex-boyfriend's wife in August cause she couldn't have her no more. It was a couple months after that she (the dog) bit my 19-month-old son. I called (the woman) after that to take her back, and she said she couldn't. So I continued to keep the dog, and she bit my son two more times."

In the interview she also said she tried to get the Auburn police involved, but they wouldn't do anything about it because she was a "vicious" dog.

FRANK FM is going to donate the money to the Humane Society.
