HAMPTON - Most people can only dream of driving a luxurious Lamborghini. But thanks to the creativity of a Seacoast family, it may be easier - and cheaper - than you think.
Ryan Cohen and his father, Robert, of Hampton, have teamed up to create Seacoast Exotic Car Rentals.
The business, which just opened on May 1, will allow anyone over age 25 with a clean driving record to rent exotic cars like a Lamborghini or Corvette for as cheap as a few hundred dollars.
"We're taking the insurance out of the factor for them - we are taking the car payment out of the factor for them," Robert Cohen said. "We just want to give them something they normally wouldn't be able to do."
The father and son duo - who share a passion for exotic cars - said they haven't had any customers yet.
Their vehicles, however, are officially ready for the road and available for rent after months of planning and insurance negotiations.
"[We] just wanna have them have the time of their life," said Ryan Cohen, who attends UNH for Communications.
Their hope is that the cars will be rented for weddings, dates and local tourism.
The Cohen's, who plan on renting the cars throughout the summer months, said the idea came from other similar business models they discovered in California and Florida.
"I think it would be a great idea because we're right on the seacoast," Ryan Cohen said. "We have a beautiful Route 1A that goes right through Rye and Portsmouth. We have 18 miles of the coast, and I feel like that would be a great scenic adventure for our clients to take."
The Cohen's hope to increase their vehicle selection in the future if their business model is successful.
