Lowell, Mass., police seize firearms, narcotics, cash from NH residents
LOWELL, Mass. - Police seized firearms, drugs, cash and arrested two people from New Hampshire.
On Friday, at about 9 p.m., Officer Nicholas Dokos observed a vehicle with defective equipment.
Police said Dokos tried to stop the car, but it fled to Tewksbury.
Police said the passenger, in an attempt to escape, threw a bag out the window of the car. Assisting officers who recovered the bag said it contained approximately 2 ounces of marijuana which were packed separately, a Glock 17 firearm, a large capacity magazine, and 28 rounds of ammunition.
Police said Chelsea Seymour, 22 of Nahsua, was the driver. Seymour was charged with speeding, failure to stop for a Police officer, Stop sign violation, warrant charging her with failure to appear, unlawful possession of ammunition, driving to endanger, possession of a class d substance with intent to distribute, and unlawful possession of a firearm.
Police said Manuel Alicea, 23 of Manchester, is charged with unlawful possession of a firearm, possession of a class d substance with intent to distribute, unlawful carrying of a large capacity firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition, and warrant charging him with failure to appear.
Seymour and Alicea are scheduled to be arranged in Lowell District Court on March 2.
