Lots of holiday events planned for Seacoast this weekend


57th Annual Exeter Holiday Parade
Saturday from 5:30-7:30 p.m.
The parade begins on Portsmouth Avenue near Exeter Lumber continues onto Water Street, ending at Swasey Parkway.
Roads will be closed starting at 4:30 p.m.

Holiday tree lighting
Sunday at 5:30 p.m.
There will be music from Portsmouth School Musicians starting at 5 p.m.
Church Street will be closed from Congress Street to Porter Street beginning at 4 p.m. until the completion of the event.
The city's 2014 annual illuminated Holiday Parade scheduled for Saturday has been canceled due to the weather forecast.

"A Fairy Tale Christmas" Holiday Parade
Sunday at 3 p.m.

"A Gift from the Heart" Christmas Parade
Sunday at 1 p.m.
The parade will form at 11 a.m. behind Webster at Rye, 795 Washington Road. Judging will take place at noon.

First Holiday Parade
Saturday from noon-4 p.m.
The parade starts at the Chop Shop Parking Lot and goes to the Super Wal-Mart lot. At Wal-Mart there will be pictures with Santa, hot chocolate, music etc. Donations will be going to Toys for Tots and CHAD.

"Believe" - A Somersworth Winter Gala" Christmas Parade and Winter Gala
Saturday at 2 p.m.
The Somersworth Plaza will be turned into a winter gala from 1:30-4:45 p.m. There will be performances, exhibits, events, and a parade viewing area. It will end with fireworks.
This year's parade route is as follows:
Starts on Main Street at the Somersworth Plaza; take a left onto Market Street; take a left onto High Street; take a left onto Constitutional Way; cross Washington onto Green Street; end at Langelier Street.
