Londonderry victim identified, family shares their grief

LONDONDERRY — New details unfolded Tuesday about a situation that ended with one person dead and one taken to a Massachusetts hospital.

Both the family and Attorney General confirmed that the victim in this killing and attempted suicide was Daniel Rabideau and family told NH1 News he was taken too soon when he was coming to Currier Drive just trying to do his job.

The 59 year old, Rabideau, has worked for City Fuel for about three years and it was a service call that brought him to a Londonderry home owned by Richard Verville.

“I mean he didn't even say that they have to go back,” said Carole Rabideau, the victim’s wife who returned to the scene this morning.

"I don't know if he been here but I don't know if somebody else had been here from the company,” said Rabideau unsure if her husband had any relationship with Verville.

The AG continued their investigation and said that Verville suffered from mental health issues and Rabideau’s family said that their father’s death could have been prevented.

“Crazy people should not have guns. They shouldn't. I'm all for the right to bear arms but not when you're when you're unstable,” Kim Mattucci, Rabideau’s stepdaughter, said.

The AG confirmed, Verville is still recovering from his failed suicide attempt in a Massachusetts hospital. Meanwhile, Rabideau’s family in mourning.

“He loves with all of his heart, he would help anybody that he could, he's (my) best friend,” said Carole Rabideau.

“I loved Dan. He was a kind soul. We need people like that on this earth, they shouldn't be taken away from us,” said Mattucci.

The Rabideau family tells NH1 News Rabideau would have been married to his second wife, Carole for 25 years come October. He was a grandfather of 11 and a stepfather of four.

The AG has not released a motive in this case.
