Lobster predicts 6 more weeks of summer

BELFAST, Maine — We all know Groundhog's day isn't until February, but there could be a new holiday predicting the summer for New Englanders.

Passy Pete, short for Passagassawakeag Pete, had his first go at calling whether or not there would be six more weeks of summer this year.

Passy Pete was led by Belfast city officials and business leaders to shore Monday morning and "directed" the crowd towards a scroll that predicts six more weeks of summer, according to Bangor Daily News.

How Passy Pete made his decision is widely unknown, but his verdict is the hot weather will keep on coming!

This is the first time Belfast has held this event, but officials hope to make it an annual tradition.
