Lines grow with the Powerball jackpot as NH people hope for a piece of $1.5 billion

MANCHESTER - Powerball fever has Granite Staters heading out for a chance at being a billionaire.

Bunny’s Superette in Manchester, also known as the luckiest store in the state, was packed all afternoon as people look to get their last picks in before Wednesday’s drawing.

Their lines have been long all this week - especially Wednesday - as the jackpot continues to grow.

They've had to bring in more cashiers and separate into two lines - one dedicated solely to selling Powerball tickets.

Most people go for the quick pick, some use birthdays or favorite athlete’s numbers.

One thing is for sure, though. Everyone has a plan for what they'd do with all of that cash... and many said they're even looking to help others.

“I would open a place for homeless people and help people with the drugs and stuff,” said Donna Roy of Hooksett.

“I would love to donate the money to some charities, pay off my school loan, and pay off some of my bills,” said Peter Nhiany of Manchester.

There are signs all over the store reminding people it is the most winning store in the state.

Many who visited the store Wednesday were first-time customers, hoping to get lucky.

The Powerball drawing will happen live at 10:59 p.m. on WBIN-TV.
