Lightning strikes affect two homes on Ledgewood Road in Manchester

MANCHESTER - A lightning bolt touched down on Ledgewood Road on Friday evening, affecting two homes but causing only minor damage, according to firefighters.

Fire crews responded after lightning apparently hit trees at 196 and 210 Ledgewood Road. In one case, the lightning ran from the tree via the sprinkler system into the house and caused minor damage.

At 210 Ledgewood, the lightning strike led to some minor smoke at the house, which was not occupied at the time.

Firefighters say no one was injured and that damage is largely limited to the sprinkler system in the first home.
