Lebanon Applebee's closes early Tuesday after fear of biker brawl

LEBANON - Applebee's in Lebanon closed early Tuesday after a reported threat against a biker group.

Lebanon police captain, Tim Cohen, says a confidential informant told them a fundraiser hosted by a biker group at the Applebee's was going to be disrupted by another biker group on Tuesday night. Cohen says they notified all parties involved.

“Anytime we get a rumor we take it seriously," Cohen says. "We want to make sure everyone is safe.” He added the police department did not make any recommendations.

Applebee's closed Tuesday afternoon and hired police detail through the evening.

The concerns come in the wake of a biker gang brawl in Waco, Texas, that left nine dead and 18 hospitalized over the weekend.

Police say they see no connection to that incident.
