LEADING OFF: Harvey back on hill, pink eye back with Brewers

The Associated Press

A look at what's happening around spring training in Florida and Arizona today:

Mets ace Matt Harvey aims for another sharp start when he faces split-squad St. Louis in Jupiter, Florida. He pitched two-hit ball for 5 2-3 shutout innings against the Yankees in his previous outing. Harvey missed last season while recovering from Tommy John surgery.

Kansas City opening day starter Yordano Ventura tries to improve on his 10.29 ERA this spring when he pitches vs. Seattle at night in Surprise, Arizona.

Nationals closer Drew Storen is scheduled to throw against split-squad St. Louis in his first appearance in a big league game since having surgery this spring to remove a bone in his nonpitching hand.

More than a week after the Brewers thought they'd gotten rid of pink-eye cases in their clubhouse, outfielder Shane Peterson showed up with both eyes affected. Milwaukee manager Ron Roenicke says the team can't figure out why the contagious condition keeps coming back.

The Braves won't have John Buck in camp anymore. The 34-year-old catcher announced his retirement after hitting .320 this spring. An All-Star in 2010, Buck hit 134 home runs in an 11-year career with seven teams.
