Lawsuit regarding buffer zones for protesters at abortion clinics dismissed
GREENLAND - A federal judge has dismissed a lawsuit Friday challenging an unenforced state law creating buffer zones for protesters around abortion clinics.
According to seacoastonline, Joan Lovering Health Center in Greenland was affected when protesters were seen outside the facility in October 2011.
The suit was brought on by a Catholic nun and several other anti-abortion groups.
The judge ruled in favor of the town of Greenland along with the attorney general who argued protesters "lack standing" to sue the communities where clinics are located and failed to "state a plausible claim" against the communities with abortion providers.
